As you know, I will not be teaching Planning and English for the remainder of the course. I wanted to emphasize to you all that it has been a joy and a privilege working with each and every one of you. You are a vibrant, creative, funny and devoted group of learners that I hope to have the pleasure of working with in the future.
Mr. Deol will be continuing the work we've done in Planning and English. You are very fortunate to be working with him. He's a masterful teacher and a Matheson veteran, so please extend a big, warm welcome!
You can find me down in the Career Centre, where I will be working with all of the Co-ops, Grad Transition students and District Apprenticeship students. I hope to continue to work with you this year, as I can help you plan for your road ahead and help you gain work and world experience. Come down to the Career Centre for a visit! So in taking words from the mighty Bill Murray, "I have to go, but I won't let that come between us."
This Wednesday L.A. Matheson is hosting its Meet the Teacher Night and Course Info Session for Parents.
When: 5:30 pm-7:00pm, Wednesday, September. 25th
There will be an opportunity to meet all of your children's teachers, find out about the classes, expectations and support systems. There's information on how to best support your child, and opportunities to meet and talk about questions, ideas and inquiries you may have about your child's education. Please come and join us for an informative and important evening together!
I am so excited to meet and work with you! We will be diving into so many opportunities and experiences, through stories, poetry, art, history, debate, creation, and of course challenges worthy of you all.
I look forward to learning and laughing with you as we embark on a wonderful semester together.
The purpose of this website is to communicate with students and parents of our up-to-date learning experiences and classroom happenings. This is also our hub, for weekly agendas, tools, practices, assignment help and enrichment of everything we do in our classes. Students, your ideas, your ongoing learning and your creations will be published here. We will also use student blogs to showcase your learning, develop your writing and collaboration skills. Use the navigation bar above to find your class site and resources. I know we're going to have a powerful, successful semester, so lets get started!
I'm an English, Socials, and Careers Teacher fortunate enough to find my home at L.A. Matheson Secondary. My students inspire, ignite and inject me with joy and humour every day. I believe education is the silver bullet. I believe we never stop learning, never stop growing. I believe we are richer through our learning together. This blog is an extension of that belief.
